I started doing NIA after learning about it from a best friend. Having trained in classical Indian dance, yet having not danced in many years, I found NIA was the perfect way for me personally to discipline myself as a professional adult whilst also expressing my desire to dance. In work and at home, NIA has helped me to balance and re-align all aspects of my life. Most of all, I have learned to listen to myself, to quiet the chatter of my cognitive self through Mudras taught by my NIA guru. NIA helped open my eyes to seeing I had not actually met myself in many years; it has taught me to connect to the universe itself, and yet continues to teach me new lessons each time I go.
